At fifth level the spell will put a small, harmful ward on it, causing any person touching it (other than the caster) to be burnt for 1d4 damage/level (up to 10d4). At 10th level the spell will make the book teleport back to its shelf (unless prevented from doing do by a Dispel Magic or similar effect). At 15th level the spell will put an Antipathy ward (as the spell) on it to drive away thieves. When cast by a 20th level mage the book will cause anyone reading it to become insane. All effects are cumulative with the ones below. The spell requires 50gp of diamond dust per book to be enchanted. It can be mixed with other spellbook protections.

Sneakabout's Control Transfer
By: Edward Stutters
For: 2nd Edition

Class: Wizard
Level: 1
School(s)/Sphere(s): Alteration
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M
Duration: See below
Casting Time: 4
Area of Effect: One mage
Saving Throw: None
Consumed Materials: Ink and parchment
Reusable Materials: Quill and inkwell

Description: This spell is simply used for giving control of a spell like Charm Person to another mage. Both mages must be of sufficient level to cast the spell and cannot have cast it through scrolls or some such means.

Editor’s Notes: The transfer lasts as long as the transferred spell lasts. This spell cannot be used to transfer permanent effects. The caster must write the name of the recipient mage on a piece of parchment along with the spell to be transferred. The parchment is then burned to complete the spell.
