The Great Alignment Debate

Neutral Good

Neutral Good people believe in the Greatest good, untainted by Chaos or Order. They want to foster Good, defeat Evil, and redeem the wayward. If taking an independent approach would work, such as a personal mission to smite Evil, or one on one counseling of someone who has strayed, then they will work independently. If  creating a system of rules or a formal structure would improve the lot of Good, such as passing laws or constructing a church, then they will take that course of action. Order or Chaos matters not to them, so long as Good rules the day.

Neutral Good people adventure to advance Good. They work well in Good parties, often serving as a swing vote between Lawful and Chaotic party members. They can adventure with predominately Neutral parties, but often get frustrated with the party's decisions. Only under the rarest conditions will they willing to adventure with Evil people.

Gnomes are the most common example of Neutral Good people.

The basic rules of Neutral Good are:

1) Chaos and Law must be balanced to maintain the universal order.

2) Use whatever works.

3) Support, aid, and protect non-Evil creatures.

4) Defeat and destroy Evil
