Glove of the Pantheon by
Mike Shallows (TSR Worshipper)
This magic item is only a single white glove that has been worn so
often it looks gray. A matching glove for the other hand has recently
been added to make it a pair, but only the left one is magical. On
the back of the magic glove is a blank black patch. When the wearer
touches any person or religious object, the patch will show the symbol
of the god that the person worships or in what god's name the object
is use for.
Clerics have most often used this when welcoming others into their
temple. When he shakes the visitors hand with his right hand, he places
the left one on the visitor's shoulder, as a friendly gesture. He
then can see the true nature of the visitor. It has also been use
by those clerics that adventure into unknown and forgotten temple
ruins. By touching the altar or shrine he will be given a symbol.
Even if the pantheon
or god of the ruins is not around anymore the patch will show what
it use to be. The cleric can then research the symbol in libraries
and archives to learn what religion they were worshipping there.
The wearer must have a connection with a god for the gloves to work,
so only clerics can use this magical glove. If the wearer is left
handed then the glove gives him a +2 to attacks. If the wearer is
fighting with two weapons then only the one in the let hand gets a
+2 attack bonus. This bonus is for hitting only, not damage.
