The Great Alignment Debate

Chaotic Evil

Chaotic Evil people believe in Power. The more you have, the more important you are, because right and wrong are determined by who can claw their way to the top, while beating down any challengers. They don’t like to work with others, and will only do so when it is in their self-interest, or they don’t have much of a choice. This usually involves a stronger figure persuading them (i.e. do it or die) into working with each other. However, the whole time they will be looking for their chance to move up in ranks, by eliminating those who attempt to impose their will on them.

Chaotic Evil people join adventuring companies to increase their own power, because it’s a dog eat dog world, and the more power you got, the more eatin’ you do. They will resort to underhanded means to increase their standing in the party, and will openly challenge party leadership if they perceive weakness.

The most Chaotic Evil races are the Drow and Goblins.

The basic rules of Chaotic Evil are:

1) The only constant in life is change.

2) The rights of the individual trump the rights of society.

3) The heart rules the mind.

4) Only look out for number one.

5) Other sentient creatures are only tools for getting what you want. If they help, work with them, if they hinder, eliminate them.
